The Slowcore Compilation Part 3

The third installment of The Slowcore Compilation series already!
Once again we bring what we consider to be amongst the best and boldest in low tempo electronic music.
Featuring many well-known producers and masterminds, as well as up and coming producers.
Drawing influences from Hardcore, Gabber, Doomcore, Industrial, Techno, Dark Ambient, and many, many more styles.
Some of the tracks on here are more in a "Hardcore for the dancefloor" vein, some are more surreal and heady - but all are fierce.
Another attempt by us in our mission to spread dark and distorted slow tempo music.
And we sincerly hope you'll enjoy it!

23 tracks, 11-125 BPM, Runtime of 2 hours and 19 minutes.

Syntax Error + The Advent Of Acid Remixed

Out now on Bandcamp!
I am happy to have joined forces with the very talented Esther Dune for this EP on the label Spirit Of Progress.
1 original track each by both of us, and 1 remix of the other one's track.
Techno, Hardcore, Acid... but essentially, beyond styles!
Also coming to the relevant online music platforms on November 1st.

Original release info by the label itself:

"SOP 063-1322
Esther Dune / Low Entropy - Syntax Error + The Advent Of Acid Remixed

Welcome Esther Dune, aka Dutch Djane Esther Duijn, who is known for her no-nonsense techno style, and whose skills have taken her as far as playing the legendary Tresor Club and going head to head on a remix EP with DJ Ruffneck.
Here she joins the race with Low Entropy, who himself is actually a part of the techno and acid legacy that Esther relates to. “Syntax Error” kicks off with all the essentials you need – the bang of the bass drum, a rave riff and subtle variation. Low Entropy submits a tighter edit of his 2015 ZUUR track “Advent of Acid”, and both then re-tweak these originals so that the result is a totally coherent EP that goes from A to B – and provides unadulterated fun on the way."

The Last Vigil

There is a new Taciturne vinyl EP - called "The Last Vigil" - to be released soon on Aneurysm Recordings. Essentially the first release with wholly new material by him since 24 years!

I contributed a tribute mix as part of the promotion for this release. The mix is made up of older material by him, taken from many relases, and is in a variety of styles; Hardcore, Industrial, Techno, Ambient...
You can listen to it here:

Also check Taciturne's bandcamp, where you can purchase some of his old EPs and more:

Original info text for the mix:

"Low Entropy gave us an amazing Taciturne's tribute mix to promote the incoming EP.
Downloading and listening are free.... but any support to the label is very welcome.
In this session you will find some Taciturne's classics, many from the Old Bullschitt collections and a track of the new record (try to find it if you can!).
So turn up the volume, play start and enjoy this mix!!!"

Ecstasy Of Slowcore

Out now on Doomcore Initiative! Including the track "Slowcore Lacrima".

From the release info:
"Low Entropy, always a welcome guest on every label, shares with us six slowcore and doomcore tracks. Slowcore has evolved recently into a well recognizable genre due not only to its natural slowness but also to its esthetic profoundness. Low Entropy adds a layer of sadness with medieval touch into some tracks. Enjoy and stay doomed!"

An Introduction To Doomcore Records

Doomcore Records will turn 10 years in 2022, and there will be some happenings / releases surrounding this event.
So what better way to begin than with a compilation that serves as an introduction to the label itself?
We picked 7 tracks that in our view showcase Doomcore Records in a very good way. The tracks celebrate the various styles that have found a home on our label - Doomcore (of course!), Techno, Industrial Hardcore, Oldschool, Gabber, Dark Ambient, Experimental and more - and are excellent and well-produced tracks on their own at the same time.
So here you have the haunted sounds of Nkisi, the sheer brutality of Euthanasylum, the phuture sound of Danx, the new style of Naos, the reserved electronics of Aliocha, the bleak spoken word synths of Deep Sphere and InterStella Moonbeam, and the thundering Slowcore of Low Entropy - all joined in one compilation.
Whether you're new to the label and want to check this introduction, or are an old fan and want to appreciate some tracks that are still relevant: just go ahead, you won't regret it!

This release also marks the return of Mattia Travaglini as the designer for our artworks, who had to pause for almost a year, and we are very happy to have him back!

Various Artists - An Introduction To Doomcore Records

1. Naos - Multi-Armed Form
2. Danx - The Afterlife
3. Euthanasylum - Cernnunos (Krampus Edit)
4. Aliocha - Cupidon Is Dead
5. Nkisi - Killer Instincts (Instrumental)
6. Deep Sphere & InterStella Moonbeam - And So It Ends (Vocal Mix)
7. Low Entropy - There Is No Future (Extended Version)

Decayed & Ruined

That was fast! Disrrr whopped up a new album for Omnicore Records - and we think it's even better than the debut!
And the sounds on here *are* fast, too. It's a Breakcore release crossing over into heavy Dub, Industrial, Noize, Dark Ambient, Glitch, and Speedcore. Defined by a very bleak, cold, dark, but beautiful atmosphere throughout these tracks.
This is definitely not some IDM-ish Pop-Breaks album!
Once again, there are plenty of traces of 90s Breakcore influences to be found in here, so if you dug that stuff, you might dig this, too.
And, what we especially liked is that there is a huge focus on beatless, droney, ambient parts, which takes this release very far away from dancey club-friendly Drum'n'Bass etc. stuff.

Here we have music that is contemplative and brutal at the same time.
10 Tracks, 47 Minutes.

PCP – Legends In Their Life - The Unofficial Planet Core Productions Book

In 2014 I wrote an unofficial eBook about Planet Core Productions, the label, the artists, etc.
I did a revised edition first in 2021, and I did another one now, and fixed some errors and did some minor changes.

It is also published on archive.org now, where you can read it online, or download it.

Malfunction Remix Competition

My album "Malfunction" had a bit of a troubled production history.
After the tracks for my "Anarcho-Psychotic EP" were finished, in early 2002 Christoph Fringeli approached me and asked me if I would be interested to do a 2x12" release for Praxis, that would also be released as a CD, with bonus tracks.
I of course said yes!
Over the next 2 years, multiple times I began working on this album and stopped again, scrapping the unfinished tracks I created because I was not happy with them. I also got distracted by other projects such as working on a sequel to my "Urban Uprising" track.
So eventually, I thought, this won't work this way, so I got up and made a plan, and wrote down exact details for every track I wanted to create.
In Spring 2004, I then set down and created 6 tracks in 6 weeks (and added one 7th track that I actually had finished earlier). This was a bit of a new thing for me, as usually it took me multiple weeks or months to finish a single track alone!
So it was a lot of effort for me to finish everything. I also had to study for a kind of exam at the same time, so I more or less spent the entire days learning, and then working on the tracks. With some minor exceptions, I didn't see friends anymore, didn't go to parties, and so on. Maybe I watched a movie at night now and then, as the last bit of "free time" I saved.
So, after this work, the tracks were finished. I don't think I strayed from the details I set beforehand for the tracks (maybe in one or two very minor things) - yet they sounded quite different to how I imagined them.
But they were okay with me, and Christoph loved them too.
All was set to be released, but then some events in my life happened that prevented the release altogether, which had to do with my interest in occultism and similar things I had at that time. I wrote down that story elsewhere, so there is no place for it here.
Years passed, I slowly walked back into life again, and the tracks lingered on. I even lost them due to hard drive damage once, but 1-2 years later I found a backup of them.
Christoph eventually convinced me that they should be released after all, this time on Praxis Digital.

So they were finally released in Autumn 2018, 16 and a half years after their inception (and 14 years after their creation!).
They quickly became a lot of people's favorite release by me; and they're definitely different from most other stuff I did over the years.

The Low Entropy project turns 25 this year, and in light of this and the things mentioned above, I thought it would be a nice idea to do a remix competition featuring this release.

Low Entropy - Malfunction Remix Competition

I created stems for all tracks from the album.
If you're interested in this project, hit me up and I'll send you a link to the stems.
You can listen to the original tracks here https://praxisrecords.bandcamp.com/album/malfunction-praxis-digital-00101

Rules:

1. You can do the remix in any style you want, Hardcore, Breakcore, Speedcore, Doomcore, Synthwave, Dark Ambient, Chiptune, Accoustic Guitar, whatever, it's your choice, as long as it's a cool track!
2. You can use the stems as you like for the remix, but you don't need to use all, or any; for example you could recreate the melodies with your own software / hardware and add your own sounds, or just use the idea of the track, etc.
3. You can remix more than one track.

4. Deadline for submission is 7.11.2022 (November the 7th, 2022) 11:59 pm. No track will be accepted after that date.
5. The tracks that get accepted will be released on a digital label (likely in a "free or pay what you want" release - profits made will be donated to charity).
6. I don't do mastering for this release, so if you want to have your own track mastered, you have to do it yourself (but it's not necessary).

Contact me at low.entropy.80@gmail.com for the stems, and also send the finished remixes to that address, subject "Malfunction Remix Competition".
Also send me a message if you have any questions about this project etc.

So, for now, I wish you a lot of fun with the tracks, and I hope to hear many interesting sound creations!
