Low Entropy's Producer Diary: The trick

The secret trick to being a good producer is the following:

Try to make every track like it's a throwaway session on a bored monday that you will discard in the garbage afterwards, *and* as if it's a production where you need to come up with the correct sequences of tones and beats to prevent the planetary apocalypse and the end of all things, there is noone else left or around to do this job, time is running out, and you only have 5 minutes left, and if you fail, it's... "la fin", like the French say.



if you can combine both of these opposite, polar mindsets or fantasies, at the same time, and channel that in your music... well, then i think the result will be exceedingly good!
