1980s Dark Electronics

Dark Electronic music did not start in the 1990s; they was plenty of sombre music in this vein before that decade.
This mix focuses on music from the 1980s; sometimes close to Industrial, EBM, Synth Pop, Post Punk or Minimal Wave. Sonic experiments with dark synths, bleak and melancholic moods, whispering, talkind and screaming vocals, partly with dancable rhythms formed by rudimentary drum machines, party not; music that already largely followed the blueprint of what is called the "Doomcore" genre in our own days.
In many aspects Very different from todays dark and brutal Techno music, agreed, but at the same already - eeringly similar.
Face it, would you pop a steady 909 to the back of most of these tracks, you would have - instant "modern" Doomcore. Especially with those epic, dark, sawtooth filled synth sounds!

Mixed by Doomcore Records's own Nicola Current.

Reminiscence

In Low Entropy's own words:

"Urban Uprising and Emerald Planet are by far the most known tracks from my early years of doing music. Played by DJs and at partys all over the world. I can't believe it's now 20 years that I produced Urban Uprising! So I think it's time for a little re-lease.
On here are fully re-recorded and re-mastered versions of these classic tracks. Everything else has been kept purely original.
As an addition, there are the tracks "Second Uprising" and "Third Uprising", which were produced in the same era - between 2001 and 2004.

So, maybe you enjoy this little trip in the past. 4 Doomcore and Techno productions by me.

L.E. Over and Out"

So, without further ado, we present you this release!

Pardonax

Omnicore Records is proud to present the first release by Pardonax on our label, who you should know by his releases on labels like Speedcore Worldwide, Dark Shark Industries or Total Destruction.
The 90s Hardcore revival is in full swing, and we love that, but we think there is something missing. There are many artists who do that Ruffneck/Mokum sound now, and that is very, very cool, but 90s Hardcore has much more to offer than that.
We're missing a revival of the dirty, distorted, underground Hardcore of that era. The stuff that was played in squats and warehouses, not in discotheques and official rave festivals.
Cue Pardonax' entry to our label. He does that noizy and fierce Hardcore; obviously inspired by labels like Surgeon 16, Special Forces and Brutal Chud.
For our label and this release, we've chosen some extra brutal tracks by him.
So, if you're into rough and loud Hardcore, give it a go!

Doomcore Records 2021 Recap

2021 was a year of highlight after highlight for us. We think all the artists who did a release for us did a great job. So, to keep focus a bit, we will only address releases that "ultra sticked out". The first one was of course the Volksdorf Trax release by the one and only Taciturne. We were very happy to have him on Doomcore Records, and we think this release was something special: pulled from his archives of Amiga Hardcore, in our opinion these tracks stood the test of time and still sound fresh. And, of course, Taciturne is an unchallenged master of his art.
The other release was the Slowcore Compilation. The biggest project we released on Doomcore Records yet, with many good tracks from great, great artists. Shouts out to all involved!
2021 was also the year where we started the Doomcore Records Pod Cast Series. Already 15 Pod Casts were released so far, by veteran artists and promosing newcomers. Keep the mixes coming!

After the Slowcore Compilation releases, the idea came easily to start a new Doomcore Records sublabel specifically for Slowcore tunes, and that's what we did. And many artists sent us amazing(ly) slow Hardcore tunes, and we were happy to release them.
And another sublabel saw the light of day in 2021, Omnicore Records; unlike Doomcore and Slowcore Records a label for every style of Hardcore and music. We hope to put out many more cool releases on that label.

That's our little recap for 2021; hope you enjoyed our releases a bit, too!

2021 Recap

Now that 2021 is gone, I suppose it's time for a little recap. 2021 was definitely the year for my music and related projects. First thing I should mention are my releases on Viral Conspiracy Records - Chaos Out Of Order and Doomology - which I was very happy about, and which showed a new direction in my music, much more brutal and darker.
Another highlight was my first real tape album release, The Cracked Up Sessions, on Clan Destine Records, which, as the name implies, is maybe the most chaotic and fucked up release I ever did.
Then, my probably biggest release last year, "Thy Kingdom Come" on Noisj, which was called a real Hardcore "banger" that combines Oldschool and Newschool.
Another outing that combined new and old styles was my track for the SEUA CD release "Edge Of Chaos: Latent Manipulation", with lots of other great artists on it; it was very cool to take part in this.
In the summer there was the biggest project I was involved in (counting all the years of doing music); I'm of course talking about The Slowcore Compilation on Doomcore Records, for which we got a lot of wonderful feedback. Thanks to all involved!
Toward the end of the year was my return to Dark Speedcore, with "At The End Of It All" on SCWW, into which I put a lot of effort, and got some nice feedback again.
And the other big thing at the end of the year: my music being used - with visual editing by Astrid Gnosis -  in the screening of thr Spanish movie "Las Ejemplares II".
2021 was also the year I returned to writing, with my e-book "The Hardcore Primer", which tries to give an overview of the 90s Underground Hardcore scene.
And a track by me was released on vinyl again, with the Doomland compilation on Teknoland Productions.
So, I'm extremely happy with 2021, shout out to everyone I worked with, and generally to everyone in this music realm.
Let's make 2022 even better!
